Hi Linda:

You'll need the details as issued to you from VZ/VOD that shows the proper allocation ratios, market prices, and effective dates.  Once you have that information, you can use the IAM global transaction function for the proper entry.

Zed,

You need to find the allocation of basis from the google web site or investor relations.  Then first change the symbol of goog to the new class A symbol googl under the asset library, current asset library, select goog, and then the edit tab to change.

Once you've changed the symbol, use the global transactions | spinoff feature to allocate class A share basis to the new 'goog' class C shares, in the 1:1 ratio of shares received per share held.

Mike,

Use the transfer feature under the edit menu to transfer shares between accounts.  You can use original basis or current market value on date of transfer for the basis of shares transferred.

You can use the merger function to convert the preferred shares into common.  Then sell the fractional shares for the cash in lieu received.

You would need to undo all the subsequent activity since the spinoff, then the spinoff.

You could just merge all lots and basis into CMLP if that is the ending issue, and all original basis assigned to CMLP.

Phil, you can't issue a spinoff with 0.00 cost basis assigned.  Shares received in a spinoff require an allocation of original basis. I suggest you undo all this activity, properly enter the spinoff, then use the merger feature.

Arnie,

You will need to wait until you receive the proper cost basis allocation and share ratios, market prices, and other details from Abbott when this occurs.  You can refer to the investor relations department on the Abbott site for more details.  When this occurrs, we will post more instructions on this activity.

We are not aware of the details on this merger activity.  You should be able to enter this once you receive the proper information from the issuing company using IAM's global transactions | merger feature.
