I am attempting to download historical prices for then month end 6/30/2017 date, and am getting the message "No historical prices available for 6/30/2017."

The markets were open on 6/30/17, so I'm not sure why the prices aren't downloading.  I am able to download other data.

This is an issue with Yahoo, and the availability of historical pricing. If you try other historic dates, they should work, so once Yahoo provides the 6/30 date, you should be able to create and stored pricing for 6/30.
