I recently upgraded a mutual fund from investor class shares to institutional class shares.  This was done as a non-taxable event.  The number of shares and share price for the institutional class are different from the investor class.  How do I enter this transaction in a way so I can retain the original cost basis for the new (institutional) shares?  The original investor class fund has about 50 different tax lots for which I don't want to lose the cost basis info.

You can enter this under the transactions menu | add edit delete transactions | and for the mutual fund, select for activity type tender/exchange function.  You'll need the proper share ratios and market prices to complete the entry.
